Conceptual hybrid Kia Trail’ster e-AWD debuted in Chicago

Compact concept car created on the basis of a hatchback KIA SOUL, officially presented to the public at the Chicago Auto Show.
The concept was named Kia Trail’ster e-AWD. Chief designer Tom Kearns Korean Company called Kia Trail’ster the step into the future.
The car is built on the basis of the popular hatchback Soul, equipped with a hybrid power plant. It is composed of petrol turbo and electric motor, and the first drives the front axle, and the second – the rear wheels. Job engine provides a new hybrid scheme TTR (Through-the-Road), assuming the existence of two independent sources of traction. Representatives of the Korean company explained that as an example of this concept Kia demonstrates the ability to create a practical and convenient all-wheel drive car, it is equally suitable both for city driving and for the conquest of the highlands.

At the crossover soft folding roof of waterproof fabric, which can be completely removed (which makes the car much easier), and the bottom of the body is protected by a robust aluminum frame. Concept car stands out soft folding fabric roof and underbody protection of durable aluminum alloy. In the upper part of the body located built for mounting a roof rack and cross rails for mounting a mountain bike or snowboard.

The car has received the latest LED optics, and in the cabin crossover brown leather combined with aluminum decorative elements. Built-in mounting for the upper trunk and lateral mounting rails allow bringing mountain bikes or snowboards.
